BUILD YOUR OWN MIESNIEKS / Pedal Building Workshop
Private workshop in Riga – All parts included – Take your pedal home
BUILD YOUR OWN ANALOG EFFECT PEDAL IN RIGA
Build your own MIESNIEKS Overdrive/Distortion together with me in my workshop in central Riga, Latvia.
No previous electronics or soldering experience is required. I will guide you through the entire process — from identifying electronic components and understanding the basics of how the circuit works to soldering, assembly and testing.
This is a one-to-one workshop, so we can work at your own pace and you can ask questions throughout the build.
At the end of the workshop, you leave with a fully working MIESNIEKS pedal that you built yourself.
WHAT YOU WILL LEARN
During the workshop, I will guide you through:
- Basic electronic components and what they do
- How an analog guitar effect circuit works
- How to read and understand the MIESNIEKS circuit
- Through-hole component assembly
- Basic soldering techniques
- Assembling the pedal
- Testing and troubleshooting the finished circuit
- How the different parts of the circuit affect the sound
No previous electronics experience is necessary.

Everything needed to build your pedal is included:

MAKE IT YOURS
The enclosure is individually hand-stamped using steel letter punches.
During the workshop, you can take part in stamping your own pedal and add a small personal detail such as your initials or the build date.
Small variations in the lettering are part of the handmade character of every JĀNIS.LV pedal.
Built by you in Riga — not mass-produced.

ABOUT MIESNIEKS
MIESNIEKS is my handmade analog overdrive/distortion pedal, designed and built in Latvia using through-hole components.
MIESNIEKS means “butcher” in Latvian.
During this workshop, instead of buying one already built — you build your own.
